2007 polls: Zamfara Electoral Commissioner appeals for co-operation
The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Yahaya, has solicited the cooperation of the staff of the commission towards the successful conduct of the forthcoming elections in the state.
In his maiden meeting with members of the management and staff of the commission in Gusau penultimate week, the newly appointed resident electoral commissioner assured them of his readiness to carry them along to ensure that elections in the state were hitch-free.
A statement signed by the commissioner's assistant director in-charge of public affairs, Malam Bello Mada, also quoted the commissioner's administrative secretary, Alhaji Lawal Jari, who congratulated the Resident Electoral Commissioner on his new appointment and wished him Allah's guidance.
He also assured him of their maximum support throughout his tenure, especially during the elections.
The statement added that before his appointment, Alhaji Hassan Yahaya, who hails from Kontagora in Niger State, served as a permanent secretary and rose to the position of the state Head of Service before his retirement.
