A female youth corps member serving at Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) Gusau, in Zamfara State, narrowly escaped being raped by one of the school's male students recently.

Nigerian Newsday gathered that the 15-year-old male student (names withheld) had in the early hours of the day the incident occurred, called his corper teacher on phone requesting her to give him a private lesson on one of the difficult topics in mathematics which she taught students the previous day.

The unsuspecting youth corper, our correspondent reliably gathered, obliged the student's request and invited him over to her apartment for her to teach him.

Upon his arrival to her apartment for the private lesson, the teenage student started making unsolicited love advances to his mathematics teacher.

The lady corper who quickly read meaning into the actions of the student, decided to play along with him and allowed him to get undressed.

However, as soon as the student got undressed, expecting the teacher to do same, the lady corper raised an alarm which attracted neighbours and passersby.

Unfortunately, before officials of the state's sharia court implementation force known as "Hisba", who were on duty in the area, could effect the student's arrest, he took to his heels and escaped from the scene, naked.

As at the time of writing this report, the Hisba officials were combing the boy's suspected hideout with the hope of arresting him and charging him to court.
