Federal Government College Kwali calls For Power Supply

Principal of the Federal Government College Kwali in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Mr. Akingbade M.A.M has called on the federal government as a matter of urgency to arrest the problem of perpetual power failure facing the college.

He made this appeal during the general meeting of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) which took place in the school’s hall recently, pointing out that the problems facing the college includes lack portable drinking water, security, transportation and perimeter fence of the school.

"I am therefore appealing to you and your friends to help us in the provision of these facilities without which effective teaching and learning cannot take place in this environment", he said.

The principal however called on the parents to advise their children to face their studies squarely and warned them to shun any act of immoral behaviours in the school.

He commended the out going principal of the college, Aljahi A.W.Liman for his meaningful contributions towards the progress of the school and prayed for God to guide him in his new place of work.

The college boss informed the gathering that it is wrong for senior students to punish the junior students unnecessarily in the school, saying that for a long time now flogging has been forbidden among students.

Mr. Akingbade used the occasion to give Kudos to the Parents Teachers Association of the school under the leadership of Dr. Yunusa M. Salihu Zuba for the provision of physical facilities as well as provision of employment to personnel in the various areas of need.

Responding, the chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the school, Dr. Yunusa M. Salihu said that PTA has employed 13 part-time teachers in the school, adding that the allowance of the part time teachers have been paid as at when due.

His words: "The PTA has been able to raise the morale of our teachers by way of motivation. We were able to pay form masters allowances and duty masters allowances".

Dr. Salihu Zuba expressed with dismay insecurity problem facing the college, pointing out that the PTA has recruited four security personnel in the principal’s house.
