Naspoly meets NBTE requirements

In a bid to accreditate more courses in Nasarawa State Polytechnic, the Acting Rector, Mr. Michael Ibrahim has said that the institution has complied with all the decisions previously reached with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) team by providing all the necessary structures and facilties..
Mr. Ibrahim told the NBTE team led by the director of programmes Alhaji Mohammed Sani Abubakar that the institution had been producing qualified graduates in all the courses offered in the school.
The rector commended the state government for supporting the institution by providing all the necessary impetus to ensure that the polytechnic courses were accreditated.
Mr. Ibrahim said that the institution would abide by all the pieces of advice and observations that were made so that the courses offered would scale accreditation.
The NBTE director of programmes, Alhaji Abubakar expressed satisfaction with the level of facilities inspected in the polytechnic and commended the state government for giving all the necessary support to ensure that all the courses offered in the polytechnic were accreditated.
Alhaji Abubakar said that the inspection and the advisory team would soon make the report on accreditation of courses run in the school public.
According to him, the NBTE team concentrated on area of manpower and courses being run in the institution as well as facilities on ground as to whether they would be able to enhance learning and better productivity.
On his part, the permanent secretary ministry of education, science and technology, Alhaji Mohammed B. Idris charged the NBTE team to be meticulous in its assessment to enable the polytechnic produce better and qualified manpower that the nation would need.
Alhaji Idris also commended the state government for upgrading the facilities in the institution to ensure the accreditation of courses offered in the polytechnic and expressed government’s readiness to support the school all the time.
The chairman of Nasarawa State Polytechnic Governing Board, Dr. Yusuf Yerima reiterated the institution’s willingness to meet all accreditation requirements.
Dr. Yerima who was represented by the Governing Council vice chairman, Yahaya Bello commended the state government for upgrading facilities in the institution.
He expressed joy on the visit of NBTE team and assured them of all necessary support to accreditate courses in the institution.
It would be recalled that the NBTE team inspected facilities in the school on the 18-19th March, 2006.
