By Ma’aji Dandaura

The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Mohammed Ahmed has cautioned people of the state against those he described as "empty politicians" who have nothing to offer other than serving their personal interest.

The Speaker gave the advice while commissioning a borehole sank at Gaji community in Akun Development Area by the House Minority Leader, Hon. Mary Enwongulu.

Alhaji Ahmed who was represented by the Majority Leader, Hon. Peter Mbucho, called on people of the state to always vote for credible leaders who would complement government efforts by executing projects that have direct bearing on the lives of the people.

While commending her for providing portable water to Gaji people, the Speaker noted "water is life", adding that the gesture by the Minority Leader shows that she has the interest of the people at heart.

He then called on the community to protect the project against vandalisation.

Earlier, the Minority Leader, Hon. Enwongulu said she felt fulfilled that she has been able to meet one of the needs of the people.

She said government alone could not meet the needs of the teeming populace, as such there was the need to complement government effort especially at the grassroots.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Aren Akun, Alhaji Usman Galadima commended the effort of the Minority Leader. He said the project was the first of its kind in the area.
