NANS honours NSHA member

A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Kokona East constituency, Hon. Raphael Dogara Saka has been given an award for good representation.
He was given the award by the joint campus committee of Nasarawa, Abuja and Kogi states of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
The presentation ceremony took place at the conference hall of the State House of Assembly, Lafia last week.
Presenting the award, the president of the joint campus committee, Mr Oladikun Oladikpo said NANS decision to select Hon. Saka for the award was because of his contribution to the development of democracy in the state and the country in general.
Mr. Oladikpo said Hon. Saka within his short time in office was able to renovate some boreholes in his constituency.
According to him, he was also able to dig some wells, all in his effort to provide portable water for his people.
He stated that Hon Saka also built classrooms in his constituency aimed at providing qualitative education to the younger ones.
He further said the lawmaker also distributed over 8,000 exercise books to various schools in his constituency.
Mr. Oladikpo added that Hon. Saka was also able to register some students for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Receiving the award, Hon. Saka thanked NANS for the award, adding that it would spur him to contribute more to the development of democracy in the state.
The lawmaker then called on students to shun cultism and face their studies more seriously so that they could be good leaders in the future.
