Sixteen people were recently conferred with different traditional titles by the Andoma of Doma in Nasarawa State Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga in Doma the headquarter of Doma Local Government Area.

Those conferred with the traditional titles included Alhaji Hussaini Oga; former Tafida, now Madaki (Owuse of Doma), Alhaji Muhammadu Rajab Ogiri; former Pakachi, now Galadima (Loshata of Doma), Alhaji Bala Umaru former Wambai, now Tafida Doma and Mallam Musa Omaku Oboshi now Pakachi Doma.

The new traditional title holders are Alhaji Danlami Mallam Yaro as Sarkin Pada, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Idris as Wambai, Alhaji Yusuf Abubakar as Majindadi, Alhaji Abdullahi O. Akpaki, permanent secretary ministry of works, as Jarimi, Engineer Mohammed Addra; General Manager Nasarawa State Water Board, as Saii and Engineer Christopher Osabo as Idoma Wose.

Also Alhaji Abdullahi O. Agabi is now Mukadam, Alhaji Yahaya Abdullahi Bako Doma as Shettima, Mallam Abdullahi Ebeya as Owyarigo (Bakashaka), Alhaji Halad Ibrahim as Sarkin Nupawa, Alhaji Umar Ahmadu Danbab as Sarkin Turka and Mallam Lukeman Babanlafia as Sarkin Dusa.

While conferring the traditional titles the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Ahmadu Aliyu Oga enjoined the beneficiaries to see the honour done them as an act of God and challenged them to use their titles to develop Doma Local Government Area and its environs.

He appealed to them to also promote the education of children in the area.

The Andoma further challenged politicians to shun violence and thuggery in the forth coming local government polls in the area.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Madaki Doma Alhaji Hussaini Oga pledged their loyalty to the Andoma of Doma and the traditional council.

Alhaji Oga, who was represented by the Galadima Doma, Alhaji Muhammadu R. Ogiri said the traditional title holders would work according to the tradition of the land.

He assured the Andoma of their readiness to contribute to the development of the land.

Said he: "We will be loyal and active in the discharge of all assignments that would be given to us by the Doma traditional council".
