Keffi community appeal for good roads
By Mathias Patrick, Keffi
Residents of Ungwan Super in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have decried the deplorable condition of roads in the area and called on government to address their plight.
The residents made the call when they met to discuss the deplorable state of the roads in the area, recently.
They particularly called on Keffi Local Government Council under the leadership of Alhaji Yusufu Ahmad, (DPM) and the member representing the area in Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Honourable Aliyu Abdullahi, to help address the problem of bad roads and erosion in the area.
The ward head (Mai-ungwan) of the area, Malam Musa, explained that people of the area were working towards repairing some parts of the roads through community efforts, but their efforts were not enough.
He said, because of the topography of the area, flood from other areas usually flow into their area, adding that, "this have a negative impact on our streets due to lack of drainage system".
The Mai-ungwan also appealed to politicians to always keep to their pre-election promises and "stop making promises they know they cannot fulfill".
He noted that the people of Ungwan Super had long been abandoned by the past government in terms of provision of social amenities, thereby causing untold hardship on the residents and expressed the hope that government would address their plight.
