I’m a father of all – Gov Adamu
By Tukura Mathew
As the race to occupy the Shendam Road Government House, Lafia, Nasarawa State, hots up, the incumbent governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, has again made it clear that neither his government nor himself has endorsed any candidate who would succeed him as the chief executive of the state in 2007.
Governor Adamu restated this when a gubernatorial aspirant, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma, paid him a courtesy call at Government House Lafia, penultimate week.
The governor made it clear that all aspirants for the number one seat in the state would be treated equally by him, saying that as the "father of all" he would provide a level playing ground for all of them.
He however, enjoined all the governorship aspirants in the state to seek peoples mandate through peaceful means and avoid violence.
The governor also called on other politicians seeking for political offices to conduct themselves in matured manner, adding that "victory comes from God and only God can determine who will govern the state after me".
Speaking earlier, the gubernatorial aspirant said he and his supporters were at the Government House to inform Governor Adamu of his intention to seek for the number one seat in the state with a view to continuing with the programmes initiated by him.
