NSHA Speaker, Majority Leader, others win own seats

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, has been declared winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries into the State House of Assembly for Doma North constituency.
This result was announced by the chairman of the PDP in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Yusuf Ayitogo, while giving a breakdown of results of primaries election into the State House of Assembly held in the state penultimate Saturday.
According to the chairman, Philip Aruwa Oyunka got the party’s ticket to contest Akwanga South constituency while Danlami Mohammed won the primaries for the Eggon East.
Others who according to the PDP chairman will run on the party’s ticket are Ibrahim Hamza for Lafia Central, Yakubu Dodo for Keana constituency while Yakubu Abdulhamid Kwarra, who is the House Majority Leader will run for Wamba. In Keffi East, Badamasi Dahiru was declared winner, Mbucho Peter Akwanga North, Abdullahi Musa Aliyu, Keffi North, Yakubu Faransa, Awe North and Rapheal Dogara Saska is for Kokona East.
The list of winners also included those of Adamu Mu’azu Lafia North, Hon. Elisha Agwadu, Obi II, Ishaq Ahmed Kana, Kokona West, Alhaji Sidi Mohammed Bako, Obi I, Musa Ahmed Mohammed Nasarawa Central and Tahir Alayi for Uke/Karshi constituency.
Other winners announced by the chairman were, Ahmed Sardauna emerged for Doma East, Patrick Ebinny for Loko/Udege, Adams Owamna Nyisana Gadabuke/Toto, Bala Eland Karu/Gitata, Yahaya Ahinoyi Usman Ugya/Umaisha, Samuel Allu, Eggon West and Jada Hashimu is to contest the seat for Awe East constituency.
Alhaji Ayitogo said the conduct of the primaries was free and fair and described it as unprecedented in the history of the state. He said reports from many parts of the state indicated that the primaries were conducted in an atmosphere free of rancour and acrimony.
He however disclosed that a committee has been set up to hear the complaints of aggrieved aspirants and members of the party in the state.
