A university lecturer at the department of political science, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Abubakar Mohammed hsa flayed politicians for their selfish manipulations of religion and the citizens.

Dr. Mohammed made this condemnationin a paper he presented in a two-day workshop on capacity building held in Kano recently.

In the paper titled "the myth and reality of indigenity" Dr. Mohammed alleged that Nigerians, especially political and ruling class no longer take religion to be a way of worshipping God alone, but a means of influencing the faithful to do certain things to serve their(politicians) selfish interest.

The two day workshop was organized by an NGO, Brigde builders Association of Nigeria in collaboration with British High Commission in Nigeria.
