Tela picks House of Assembly ticket for Jama’a LGA

Mr. Labari Tela has emerged victorious in last week election to represent Jama’a Local Government Area in Kaduna State House of Assembly under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr. Tela polled 267 votes to defeat his two opponents, Mr. Edward Matha who got 226 votes and Barrister Pius Madaki who got only one vote.

Announcing the result at the end of the contest, the Electoral Officer saddled with the responsibility of the election in the area, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, explained that by the outcome of the exercise, Mr. Tela was the winner of the primary election.

Hajiya Hadiza expressed satisfaction with the peaceful and orderly manner the election was conducted. She also commended the delegates for the good conduct they exhibit.

She then appealed to the losers to accept their defeat as an act of God, adding that in any contest there must be a victory and a loser.

Addressing newsmen after the election, the council chairman of Jama’a Local Government Area, Mr. Abraham Jatau, thanked the delegates and the politicians in the local government for their cooperation and well-behaved way they conducted themselves during the election.

Speaking to newsmen, the winner of the election, Mr. Labari Tella, gave glory to God for giving him the victory for according to him victory is from God.

He promised to do his best for the people if he was finally given the mandate to represent them in the State House of Assembly.

He then appealed to those who lost the battle to accept it in good faith and work together with him to move the party forward and achieve the desired victory at the end.
