Alhaji Alimi stated that the present administration, under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Makarfi has focused attention on human development, apart from the execution of developmental projects.
He explained that poverty was a major problem in the society and that it was therefore necessary for the government to tackle it.
Alhaji Alimi who is also the Permanent Commissioner Local Government Service Commission, advised beneficiaries of the exercise to use what they were given judiciously.
Some of the items given to beneficiaries are complete set of a GSM handsets with table and chairs, cows to butchers, sewing machines, provisions to traders and a take off grant of N10,000 to each person.
It could be recalled that recently Kaduna State government inaugurated Poverty Prevention Committee and directed all the 23 local government councils to donate one million naira each every month for the period of three months while the state government contributed three million naira to each of the local governments to ensure the success of the programme.
