Gov Odili bags LENIP award for good governance

Leagues of Northern Independent Publishers (LENIP) last week wendensday at Arewa House – Kaduna conferred an award of excellent for good Governance for South-South Zone on Governor Peter Odili of River State.

The award was presented to Governor Odili by the chairman of the occasion, Major-General Thaddeus Asheli (rtd) and was witnessed by Rivers State Executive Council, lawmakers, sons and daughters of River State and prominent personalities across the country.

General Asheli who described the award given to Governor Odili as well deserved

Said the performance of the Governor is a pride not only to Rivers Satte but the country as a whole.

According to him, Governor Odili apart from executing meaningful developmental projects, he was able to improve on human development in the state.

Also speaking, the National chaiman LENIP, Mr. Mordecai S. Ibrahim said that the award given to Governor Odili was purely based on merit.

He explained that the associations setup a committee that toured the whole South-South and at the end of its assignment selected Governor Odili.

Mr. Mordecai further explained that Governor Odili has done a lot in the areas of health, education, transformation, housing, vibrant civil service, economic empowerment, electrification, security, road construction and maintenance of peace among others.

In his acceptance speech, Governor Peter Odili expressed deep appreciation for the honour.

He then commended LENIP fro finding time to undertake a fact finding tour of projects in Rivers State and the entire South-South before arriving at a decision to honour him.

Governor Odili disclosed that in the last seven years of his Government he as able to carryout developmental programmes aimed at improving the living standard of his people.
