2007 elections: Bobbo pledges to revamp agric in Adamawa

A gubernatorial aspirant in Adamawa has pledged to establish an agricultural supply company in the state, if given the mandate come 2007 elections.

Alhaji Dahiru Bobbo (OFR) of the Peoples Democratic party made the pledge during his official declaration to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the state saying if given the mandate, he will reestablish the famous "Adamawa Farms" and the former "Gongola Mechanization Agency.

Bobbo, who is the title holder of Dan Madami Adamawa and Director-General of the National Boundary Commission observed regrettably that the Adamawa State has been left far behind in terms of provision of basic infrastructures such as good road network, portable water, quality education, health services and security among others.

He told, his teaming supporters, who gathered at the party secretariat in their thousands that, if elected as governor, his government will hinge its philosophy of governance on reason, rationality and social progress, while safeguarding the rights and privileges of Adamawa citizens.

According to him, "the development of enclaves of comfort and opportunity for the poor and disadvantaged people will be purchase with vigour and revolutionalised without fear or favour. Hence the enthronement of merit rather than patronage based only on political leaning, family background or godfatherism in the pursuit of our legitimate goals of development will be a cardinal principle".

In a separate development, the Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna has approved one million naira (N1million) each for all the magistrates in the state as car loan.

Governor Boni disclosed the development while receiving the Senior Officials of the State Judiciary, who were at the Government House to pay him Sallah homage recently saying that, he gesture is necessary considering the hardship being experienced by the judiciary officers in the area of transportation.

Responding, the State Chief Judge, Justice Bamare bansi expressed delight over the concern been shown to judiciary by Boni’s administration since inception.

Justice Bansi said, the government has renovated all their residential building in a addition to a modern high court complex under construction.

"All these efforts are commendable and appreciated", he said.
