By Fayil Friday

A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) councillorship aspirant into the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Mr. Steve Abbah has promised to stimulate good governance through appropriate legislation, if given the mandate come 2007.

Mr. Steve Abbah who is contesting under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also promised that when elected he would work towards meeting the health needs of the people of the area council.

Mr. Abah stated these in an exclusive interview with Nigerian Newsday when he visited the office of the Gwaripa ward of the PDP recently. He said as a professional, he had been looking for an opportunity to partner with government in the FCT to improve the wellbeing of its people, especially the youths.

According to him, having resided in the area (Gwarinpa award) for over five years he had endeared him self to the people and expressed optimism that he would clinch the mandate in 2007.

Mr. Abbah said he was favoured by the zoning arrangement in the area as Gwarinpa ward elders had endorsed his candidature.

He however solicited the support of the people of Gwarinpa ward to enable him translate his laudable dreams into concrete reality, assuring that problems of water shortage, agriculture, bad roads and poor education would be tackled as he would use his position to lobby for people oriented projects if given the chance in the 2007 council poll.
