Voters’ registration: Senator Nuhu berates INEC boss, vows to drag him before the Senate

Senator D.I G Nuhu Aliyu has vowed to drag Prof. Morris Iwu, the chairman Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the senate to explain why problems are trailing the ongoing voters registration exercise in the country and profer solution.
Speaking exclusively to Nigerian Newsday on his intention to recontest the senatorial seat of his senatorial district, Zone C, in Niger State, he said that the Senate had earlier warned the INEC chairman against failure of the voters registration exercise which may led to extension of time which, he said is against the constitution.
The serving Senator who is seeking a third term in office distributed fourteen buses to the members of his campaign team with N30,000.00 for maintenance of each vehicle. He also gave forty three (43) motorcycles to wards with N10,000.00 each for maintenance.
On his achievement for the people of the zone during his eight years as a Senator, Aliyu stated that a lot has been done, "that is why my people asked me to come out and continue", he said.
In another development four commissioners in Niger State have resigned their appointment to contest elective offices.
The commissioners are Abdullahi Mohmud of Ministry of Works, Alhaji Garafuni, Ministry of Agriculture, Hajiya Kaka Wabi, Ministry of Commerce and Alhaji Idris Azozo, Ministry of Water Resources.
