Use Ramadan for repentance
By Safina Sabo, Lafia

Muslims in Nasarawa State have been called upon to use the holy month of Ramadan as an opportunity to come closer to Allah, and seek His forgiveness.

The call was made by Ustaz Ibrahim Dahiru during a Tafsir lecture, organised by the voice of Islam in Nigeria and the Federation of Muslim Women Association (FOMWAN), Nasarawa State chapter, at the Eid prayer ground, Lafia, last week.

He said having the chance to witness this great month was a privilege for every Muslim to rededicate himself to the worship of Allah, so as to get His blessings.

Ustaz Dahiru said, the holy month of Ramadan being one of the sacred months in the Islamic calendar is a month which all good acts of worship are accepted by Allah, if done for His cause.

He urged all Muslims to engage themselves in the recitation of the holy Quran, remembrance of Allah (Zikr), as well as giving of alms at free will during this period.

He further called on Muslim faithfuls to be their brothers keeper, and always extend Salam greetings to each other in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (SAW).
