Nasarawa First lady Crowned Soroniyar Lafia

Hajia Khadija Abdullahi Adamu, Nasarawa State's First Lady has been crowned as the Soroniyar (Queen in the Palace) Lafiya by His Royal Highness, the Emir of Lafia, Alhaji Mustapha Agwai I. In a colourful and well attended ceremony at the Lafiya Palace grounds, the Emir of Lafia stated that she was being crowned as the Soroniyar in appreciation of her enormous contributions to the upliftment of women in Nasarawa state and the success of her pet project, the Child Care Trust.

The ceremony which was attended by no less than five first ladies from across the country is the first to be held by the Lafia Emirate council. The Emir said they could no longer wait to crown the First Lady as a Queen in the Palace because of her antecedents as a humble and caring leader of women in Nasarawa State. She has placed women on a high pedestal, said the emir of Lafia. The Andoma of Doma as well as the first lady of Niger State also gave testimony to the Hajia Khadija Adamu's appropriate choice for the title.

In her response, Hajia Adamu thanked all those who had supported her to make a difference in the lives of women in Nasarawa state as well as contributed to the establishment of her child project. She dedicated the title to all women and thanked the Emir of Lafia for encouraging her through the investiture. She said her family, especially her husband and Governor of Nasarawa state have been a pillar of support for her and pledged to continue to make them proud in her endeavours.
