Nasarawa State Contingent Commence Pilgrimage in Israel

The Nasarawa State contingent to this year’s pilgrimage in Israel has arrived in Tel Aviv. The overnight flight took them straight from Abuja to Tel Aviv were they have commenced the pilgrimage.

Addressing the contingent shortly before they left Lafia, Governor Akwe Doma urged them to know that pilgrimage was a journey of faith that should be approached from the spiritual perspective. According to the Governor “It is therefore my expectation that throughout this pilgrimage and when you come back, you would devote yourselves to a deep study and understanding of the teachings of God as enjoined by your faith”.

A total of 226 persons are performing the pilgrimage out of which 115 are sponsored by the government.

The Governor in bidding farewell to the delegation urged them to spend their time in the Holy land praying for the peace and prosperity of Nasarawa State as well as pray fervently for the implementation of the Administrations 13-point agenda. He also urged them maintain self discipline as well as vices that may bring disrepute to the State and Country.

The delegation which is being led by Dr. Sylvester Ayih MFR (Abaga Toni) also includes Mr. Silas Dachor, Permanent Secretary Government House, Lafia and Dr. Samuel Jimba, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor.
