Nasarawa Muslim Pilgrims Depart for Saudi Arabia

Muslims Pilgrims intending to perform the year 2007 Hajj have departed Lafia for Abuja enroute to Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the pilgrims at a ceremony in Lafia, the State Capital, Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma advised them to see the Hajj as a divine duty which is incumbent on all faithful. He admonished them therefore to conduct themselves only in the way and manner acceptable to Allah and deserving of His blessings.
On the essence of the Hajj, Governor Doma reminded the Pilgrims that going to hajj is neither a tourist nor a commercial trip. It is a religious journey for which they have prepared themselves, to strengthen their faith and hope to receive spiritual benefits there from. Continuing, the Governor Said they need to avoid doing anything that is offensive to the will of Allah, so as not to be denied of the tremendous benefits of hajj.
Speaking earlier, the Amirul Hajj and Chairman, Nasarawa State Muslim Pilgrim Board, Group Captain Usman Jibril (rtd.) admonished the Pilgrims against unwholesome conduct in Saudi Arabia saying the Board will not defend any Pilgrim that broke the laws of the country. He similarly told them to abide by the luggage allowance allowed them as the Board will not tolerate any excess baggage.
Nasarawa State Pilgrim is among the first to be airlifted from Nigeria for this years Pilgrimage.
