President Obasanjo launches National School Feeding Programme

It was probably the biggest ceremony in Nasarawa state of recent. The attendance was impressive. State Governors, members of the diplomatic corps, deputy governors, national and state parliamentarians, federal ministers and the host of them were part of the roll call of who's who that attended the official flagging off of the national school
feeding programme at Laminga today. At the occasion, President Olusegun Obasanjo restated government's commitment to the health of the youth of Nigeria.
The school feeding programme which is just being introduced in the country is being piloted by Nasarawa state on the directives of Mr. President. The programme is
to ensure that each school going pupil is provided with a supplement each day to ensure balanced  learning.
Governor Adamu in his address at the occasion praised the initiative of President Obasanjo in leading a new education vista in Nigeria. He thanked the federal government for giving the state the opportunity to pilot the programme and
kick start it on behalf of the country.
