Maradi Governor, Ibrahim Balko, on a two-day Visit to Nasarawa State

The Governor of Maradi region in Niger Republic, His Excellency Ibrahim Balko has commenced a two visit to Nasarawa State. Ibrahim Balko arrived Lafia this afternoon and was received at Government House by Governor Abdullahi Adamu.
The Maradi Governor who is leading a 40-man delegation stated that he was in Lafia to thanking the people of the state for being the first to send relief materials to them when the call for international assistance was made early this year. He said the famine which befell Niger republic was the result of crop failure and that the best way to know friends was when you are in problem. He praised Nasarawa State for coming to their aid when they were in need. He therefore offered the felicitations of the government and people of Niger to them.
In response, Governor Adamu said that the culture and tradition of the people of Nasarawa State taught us to be our brother's keepers. He said when news got to us that the people of Niger were experiencing famine, the whole state rose in one accord to assist their brothers. He called on the people of Niger to consider the people of Nasarawa state as their brothers who will stand by them in times of need. He urged the delegation to feel at home while in our midst as the state was prepared to accord them the best hospitality possible.
