Nigerian Youths Charged on Issues of National Development

Governor Abduallhi Adamu has urged Nigerian youths to harness their resourcefulness, intellect, innovation, creativity and cooperation in tackling the variables that degrade Nigerians capacity to live a fulfilled life. He made this call while addressing newly deployed youth corps members at the Magaji Dan-Yamusa permanent orientation camp in Keffi today.

Governor Adamu used to occasion to draw the attention of the youth to the challenges of nation building which in the case of Nigeria is confronted by competition in a globalized market place. According to the Governor, Information technology is gradually defining new paradigms of relationships which require a sound knowledge base to solve. Therefore our youth must use their knowledge as a factor of production in the engine of national development.

On the opportunities that the state has created for the youth, governor Adamu said the administration had opened various tertiary institutions as well as commercial enterprises which will provide boundless opportunities for the youth. Also, an urban renewal scheme was been undertaken in conjunction with the World Bank and other multi-lateral institutions to open business opportunities for our young men.

A total of 1,254 youth corps members are to serve in the state this year out of which 662 are male and 592 are female.
