Nasarawa Mourns the Loss of Zango Ibrahim Ashabutu

Nasarawa State was this morning thrown into a mournful mood by the announcement that the state Commissioner for Housing and Environment had passed on. Alhaji Zango Ibrahim Ashabutu died in the early hours of this morning Jos after a protracted illness.

Alhaji Ashabutu who is Eggon from Lafia local council had served the state in many capacities before being appointed into the Executive Council in 2003. He was at one time a Permanent Member in the state Primary Education Board and later a Special Adviser to Governor Adamu.

The remains of Alhaji Ashabutu were transported this morning from Jos to Lafia where he has since been buried according to Islamic rites. In attendance at the burial were Governor Abdullahi Adamu and all members of the state Executive Council as well as many politicians from across the state.
