Being Text Of Speech Delivered By His Excelency, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Akwe Doma, Oon (Madauchin Doma), Executive Governor Of Nasarawa State On The Occasion Of The Installation And Presentation Of 1st Class Staff Of Office To His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Oto, Osu Ajiri Of Edege Chiefdom, Saturday, 4th December, 2010

PROTOCOL

I am grateful to God the Almighty for the opportunity to be here today for the installation and presentation of First Class Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, the Osu Ajiri, Alhaji Abdulrahman Oto.

Your Excellencies, Your Royal Highnesses, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to inform you that I have just presented the Certificate and Staff of Office to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulraham Oto, the Osu Ajiri, in his Palace, as Chief of First Class status. This development has become imperative because of the Administrative exigency dictated by circumstances.

The large turn-out of people on this occasion is a happy development. It underscores the respect and importance accorded to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdurahaman Oto and the Osu Ajiri chieftaincy institution.

Let me therefore congratulate His Royal Highness, the Osu Ajiri, Alhaji Abdulrahman Oto and, indeed, the entire people of Edege Chiefdom for this significant event in the history of Eloyi people.

His Royal Highness, the Osu Ajiri and the good people of Edege Chiefdom deserve the honour for the upliftment of their Chieftaincy institution to First Class status.  This is not unconnected with the contributions of the people of this area towards the emergence and development of Nasarawa State.

This Administration therefore counts on the loyalty, support and partnership of Edege people at all times.

On our part, I want to reassure that traditional rulers in the State would continue to receive the necessary encouragement and support to more effectively play their roles as fathers of their people and custodians of our culture and traditions.

Let me, at this juncture, remind us all of the forthcoming Nationwide Voters' Registration exercise. This is important because without a Voter's Card, you cannot vote, nor can you be voted for, in any election

Ladies and gentlemen, in concluding this address, I wish to express my gratitude and appreciation to the entire people of Edege Chiefdom for your support to me personally and to my Administration. It is my hope and expectation that this understanding, solidarity and cooperation will be sustained in our collective efforts to move the State to greater heights.

On this note, it is my pleasure to, once more, congratulate His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulrahman Oto, the Osu Ajiri, the people of Edege Chiefdom and the Eloyi people in general, for this historic attainment of their dreams.

May His Royal Highness, the Osu Ajiri live longer and may his shadows never be less.

Ladies and gentlemen, I thank you for your attention.

God bless.
