Three traditional title holders in Wamba traditional council of Nasarawa state have been stripped of their titles.

They are Alhaji Yakubu Abdulamid Kwarra (Dan Masanin Wamba) Alhaji Bisallah Adamu (Turakin Wamba) and Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu (Barden Wamba).

A press statement signed by the secretary of the Wamba traditional council, Alhaji Abdullahi Ramalam (shetiman Wamba) said the decision was based on “acts of disloyalty which are at variance with the cherished tradition of Wamba Chiefdom”.

The statement further said His Royal Highness, the Oriye Rindere of Wamba, Alhaji Lawal Musa Nagogo has approved the withdrawal of the traditional titles of the affected persons.

As a result of the withdrawal of the titles, the traditional council advised the general public “not to relate in any way with the affected persons as representatives of Wamba traditional council”.

It would be recalled that Alhaji Lawal Musa Nagogo was installed as the 5th Oriye Rindre Wamba last year.

However a number of the title holders in the chiefdom consistely refused to recognize Alhaji Nagogo as the traditional ruler of the chiefdom.
