Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of Nasarawa State has made a passionate appeal to the federal government to rehabilitate the abandoned Dam projects in the state, saying that it would go a long way in the provision of potable water in the state.
Governor Doma made the appeal when the minister of water resources, Mr. Obadiah Ando paid him an official visit at his office in Lafia. Governor Doma said if completed, the dam would not only provide potable water to various communities, but would boost agricultural activities too.
While pledging the state’s willingness to support the federal government towards the successful completion of the projects, he commended the efforts of the federal government for taking a bold step towards resolving the problem of water supply in the country.
Earlier, the minister of water resources, Mr. Obadiah Ando said the visit would
accord him the opportunity to inspect the level of work at the sites of all the federal government projects with a view to completing the abandoned ones in Nasarawa State.
While urging the state government to collaborate with the federal government in the bid to provide facilities in the state, Mr. Obadiah stressed the federal government commitment to continue to cater for the welfare of the people.
