The Nasarawa State commissioner of youth and sports, Hon. Danlami Awaje has urged the entire Gwandara people of Toni Chiefdom to support Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma’s vision and mission to transform Nasarawa State.

Hon. Awaje who made the remark in an interview with pressmen at an occasion he organized in his home town in Sabon Gida, Kokona Local Government Area recently to thank the Gwandara people of Toni chiefdom over his appointment as commissioner, described Governor Doma as a messiah not only to the people of Gwandara Toni, but the entire state.

Said he: “I want to use this medium to recount some of the achievements of Alhaji Doma (Madauchin Doma) especially as it affect the Gwandara people of Toni chiefdom. This is the first time a Gwandara person form Kokona Local Government Area was appointed a commissioner since the creation of Nasarawa State, our traditional ruler (Abaga Toni) was recently elevated from second class status to first class status, the governor has awarded so many road rehabilitation and construction contracts in villages across Kokona Local Government and other projects too numerous to mention. It is my duty as a political leader of this community to let my people know all this projects and call for their support for Governor Doma administration to enable the government do more for the people.”

Prominent personalities of Gwandara Toni chiefdom who graced the occasion  and separately urged the people of Gwandaran Toni to continue to live in peace, love one another and encourage their children to go to school included, Dr. John W. Maman Dari, deputy controller of immigration, Mr. Mathias Abashi, Hon Raphael Dogara Sa’aka Dari, Florence Ayih, Comrade Bamayi Anangba, Alhaji Isa Oga and Sarkin Sabon Gida.

Highlights of the occasion included Gwandara traditional dance by Owa dancers from Garaku, Bawuya Naddo and Musa Ganga Noma.
