An indigene of Nasarawa State, Dr. Musa A. Aliyu has been appointed as the new president of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN).
The occasion which took place at Nevilla Hotel Kaduna saw Dr. Musa Aliyu installed as the association’s new national president following the expiration of his predecessor’s tenure, Mr. Sunday F. Ekpo.
The board of trustees of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Nigeria approved the appointment of Dr. Musa Aliyu due to his leadership quality as well as his loyalty to the association.
In his speech, the president pledged to ensure discipline and loyalty among members of the institute. He also promised to pursue to logical conclusion, the institute’s bill which has been passed by the House of Representative and now before the senate, in addition to maintaining an open door administrative policy.
Dr. Aliyu, before now, has been the Head of Accounts, Agriculture and Rural Development Services (ARDS) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Meanwhile he has urged the people of the state to support the administration of Aliyu Akwe Doma to enable him actualise his desired vision for the state.
Dr. Musa Aliyu said Governor Doma would continue to do his best to improve the lives of the people of Nasarawa State if re-elected.
He added that Governor Doma of Nasarawa state has not only provided the needed dividends of democracy to the people but his leadership style was worthy of emulation by all politicians.
According to him, he has assisted the youth by empowering them to embark on farming which has helped to reduce the rate of joblessness among youths in the State in line with the present administration’s 13-point agenda.
He noted that, it was only when youths were put in the right direction that the issue of thuggery, theft and waywardness can be reduced in our society.
He also stressed that, as the new president of the institute of certified public accountants of Nigeria, he would work to ensure progress for the benefit of Nasarawa State and the country at large.
He called on politicians not to take politics as a do or die affair but as a way of promoting the state and to also assist the youths as leaders of tomorrow so that they would not be used as thugs during electioneering campaign.
