Nasarawa State University, Keffi pledges conducive academic environment

A authorities of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has promised to do all it can to provide an enabling academic environment for students of the institution.
Vice-chancellor of the institution, Professor Shamsudeen O. Amali gave the assurance while speaking as the special guest of honour at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected executive council of the National Association of Nigerian Student (NANS) zone “C” at the auditorium of the institution recently.
The vice chancellor who expressed concern over the lack of hostel accommodation in the institution, assured that the authorities of the institution would do all it can to ensure proper and affordable study environment saying, the institution has concluded arrangements to collaborate with the private sector to provide hostel accommodation to the students.
Professor Amali commended the gesture of the Nasarawa State Government under the leadership of Governor Akwe Doma for approving the Federal Government’s salary package for staff of the institution and thanked the governor for providing scholarship to students in the state studying in various institutions of learning across the country.
While congratulating the newly sworn-in officials zone “C” chapter of NANS for their success, the vice-chancellor charged them to always work as a team so as to build the future of academic standard in Nigeria and assured that the institution would work with NANS to ensure better study environment.
The VC also charged students of the institution to dedicate themselves to their studies and enjoined them not to allow themselves to be used by politicians as thugs and cause violence in political processes.
He appealed to all students to make-up and contribute their quota towards the development of Nasarawa State and the entire country at large stressing that all persons are agents of development.
Comrade Musbau commended the quality leadership style of the vice-chancellor of the university and thanked him for his care and concern over NANS and described the VC as the father of NANS.
He promised that, the association would do all it can to ensure a successful learning environment in the zone.
He enjoined the coordinator and other council members to always consult and seek the audience of their members before taking any action.
Also speaking, the chairman of Akwanga Local Government, Arch. Stanley M. Buba who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Adamu Ninga congratulated the vice chancellor and the Nasarawa State University, Keffi for presenting a chapter of NANS which, according to him, was an achievement to the entire State.
The chairman who described the newly sworn-in co-ordinator as his son thanked all students of Nasarawa State and other states for the support given to comrade Kassim Mohammed Kassim to become NANS coordinator of the zone.
Presiding over the swearing-in ceremony, Barrister Vincent A. Ofikwu urged the new NANS exco to be obedient, pay allegiance, solidarity and obey the constitution of NANS and to protect the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn-in coordinator of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Kassim Mohammed Kassim who expressed gratitude to God, thanked all for their monumental contributions towards his success and to the development and progress of NANS, saying NANS was an umbrella body of all students from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in Nigeria and assured that his administration would live no stone unturned to fight for the rights of all students at all levels so as to ensure a conducive learning environment in the zone.
Among the new exco sworn-in were Comrade Victor Mangse as PRO, Comrade Hadma Emmanuel as assistant coordinator, while Comrade Magaji Jeremiah emerged as treasurer and Musa Y. Dindang Enesi as secretary general, Jude as Director of external affair among others.
