Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of Nasarawa State has been commended for pursuing meaningful developmental projects and programmes aimed at boosting the socio-economic wellbeing of the state.

The governor has also been commended for demonstrating good leadership qualities that has succeeded in enhancing peaceful co-existence, unity, harmony and prosperity within the three years of his administration in the state.

A Lafia-based businessman, Alhaji Ibrahim Adeun Agbashi made the commendation in Lafia while commenting on the three years of Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma Administration. He added that the achievements so far recorded were quite laudable and encouraging.
He specifically mentioned the peaceful co-existence, unity and harmony prevailing in the state, which he attributed to the high sense of political maturity as well as the ability of the governor to solve tribal, religious, social and economic differences in the state.

“Infact, the ability of the governor to provide all embracing administration whereby all sections of the state are carried along irrespective of their differences is a true demonstration of political maturity on his part. He is also responsible for the peaceful co-existence, unity, mutual trust and harmony which we are enjoying in the state,” he remarked.

Alhaji Agbashi observed that the developmental efforts of the governor, especially in the areas of rural roads construction, provision of social amenities like water, health-care services, education and electricity are a good omen for the State especially that they would help in boosting the rural economy and by extension fight poverty.

He however urged the governor not to relent in his efforts towards making the state a model adding that he should bring his wealth of experience to bear in the general transformation of the state.

On the 2011 general election, the businessman advised the people of the state to support the Governor in his bid to be re-elected considering the achievements recorded in the state.

On agriculture, he also commended the state government for its prompt sale and distribution of fertilizer and also at a subsidized rate to farmers in the state. He therefore, advised the farmers to avail themselves of the opportunity and engage in active farming with a view to ensuring higher food production in the state.
