The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa State Dr. Yakubu Ahmed Ashuku, has assured that the hospital would soon be transformed into a Teaching Hospital by the Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma’s administration.
Dr. Ashuku who disclosed this in an exclusive interview in his office said the future of the hospital remains bright insisting that adequate measures have been put in place to address the problems confronting the hospital.
According to him, both personnel and facilities at the hospital are being overstretched due to congestion and lack of a general hospital in Lafia, the state capital and reassured that management and staff of the hospital have risen to the occasion and various degrees of achievements have already been recorded.
He commended the Governor Doma led-administration for its health policies implementation and promised to advise the government appropriately with ideas and programmes that would assist the government in actualizing its good intentions for hospital.
Dr. Ashuku described the staff of the hospital as productive and serious minded even as he urged them to rise up to the challenge of efficient health delivery so as to complement government’s desire to provide quality health care delivery services to the people.
The CMD described as unhealthy, the attitude of patients relations who troop in numbers to create undue congestion and pressure and used the medium to appeal to them to cooperate with the hospital’s authorities so as to make the place more conducive for patients and health personnel.
He said his three months stay as CMD of the hospital has been eventful and assured that all the problems identified would be addressed both in terms of personnel and facilities.
