LG chairman commends Governor Doma for upgrading of traditional stools

Nasarawa State governor, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma has been commended for elevating the traditional stool of Abaga Toni and Assakio chiefdoms to the status of first and second class respectively.
Chairman, Obi Local Government Area, Alhaji Abdullahi Shuaibu Akoshi made this known last week in Obi, during the book launch by Ayitonu Adopka Ayewa entitled "Ethno linguistic Diversity in Nigeria and the study of Alago language."
Alhaji Akoshi said the recent elevation of the traditional stools and the creation of three chiefdoms in Mada nation would bring peace in the state.
The council chairman appealed to the government to also elevate the Obi traditional stool to first class status.
According to Alhaji Akoshi, Obi Local Government Area at present is the only local government council out of the 13 local government areas that has no first class chief.
He maintained that Obi also has a long, rich history of existence that qualifies them to have a first class chief.
The local government boss, however, agreed that government is a continuous process and that he believes that the administration of Governor Doma would use his good initiative and office to consider the plead of the Obi chiefdom.
In a separate interview, the Sarkin Adudu, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Hassan said there was a need not only to uplift the traditional stool of the Osuku of Obi but all the other traditional stools in Obi Local Government Area.
The royal father thanked the government for elevating the Abaga Toni and Assakio chiefdoms to the level of first class and second class status respectively.
Alhaji Hassan said Governor Doma had touched the lives of their citizens in all ramifications, adding that the traditional rulers who are the custodians of culture and the people were praying for the governor’s success.
He then called on the people to support the government of Governor Doma to enable it do more for them saying that the governor had proved himself as a worthy ambassador of the people of Nasarawa State.
