Government Reconstitutes Mada Chiefdom

Nasarawa State Government has reconstituted Mada Chiefdom into three.
A statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Timothy Anjide says the new chiefdoms include Nunku chiefdom which paramount ruler shall be known as Sarkin Nunku with second class status.
Ngah chiefdom which paramount ruler shall be known as Chun Ngah with second class status with jurisdiction over Gudi, Rinze, Anjida and Agyaga district.
The third chiefdom is that of Chun Mada with first clas status under the jurisdiction of Nungha’an, Ancho, Nungo/Bohar Gwanje, Akwanga and Andaha districts.
According to the statement, this development is part of government decisive steps to amicably resolve the protracted dispute over the Mada Chieftaincy.
The state governor, Aliyu Akwe Doma who gave the approval said the decision came after due consultation with the state council of chiefs.
Meantime, Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma also approved the upgrade of two chieftaincy institution in the state.
They are Abaga Toni from second class to first class while Osakyo of Asakio was elevated from third class to second class status.
All the approvals take immediate effect.

His Excellency has done well by instituting structures that will ensure order in the reverred traditional institutions
