The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Ahmed Mohammed has commended the contractor handling the reconstruction of the state Assembly complex for quality job.

The Speaker who led members of the state Assembly on an inspection visit to the project site said, the quality of work being put on the assembly complex would stand test of time.

Alhaji Mohamed however, called on the contractor handling the assembly complex to expedite action so as to complete the project before the July 27, 2010, resumption date of members from recess.

The speaker applauded the state government for making funds available to the contractor for the execution of the project.

According to the speaker, the State House of Assembly was commencing its recess on June 6 and was expected to resume on July 27, pointing out that “it is the expectation of the members that by the time they resume from recess, the Assembly complex would have been completed.”

Alhaji Mohammed said the complex was a standard one designed to accommodate all the members, adding that by the time it was completed, the members would be able to perform their duties effectively because of the beautiful and conducive atmosphere in the complex.

Also speaking on the Assembly complex, the House committee chairman on works and transport, Honourable Adams Nyisana thanked the Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma for accepting their request to have a befitting Assembly complex that could  compete with any other one in the federation.

He said what they saw so far, was very impressive, stressing that more efforts needed to be put on the project so that the work could  be completed as soon as possible.

The House Committee chairman on works and transport stated that if the Assembly complex was finally completed, it would be a legacy of the present administration.

Also baring his mind on the project, the House committee chairman on information, Honourable Mohammed Baba Ibaku said if the Assembly complex under construction was completed it would be one of the best in the world.

Hon. Ibaku urged the state government to put more efforts in ensuring that the Assembly complex was completed soonest.

He said the project would motivate the honourable members to work effectively, pointing out that “to work perfectly one needs a perfect environment.”

The lawmaker  appealed to people of the state to give Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma all the necessary cooperation and support in his bid to move the state to greater heights
