Governor Doma Flags Off Construction of New Batch of Standard Feeder Roads

Nasarawa State Government has flagged-off the construction of standard feeder roads across the State with the road from Nassarawa Eggon – Bakyano – Arikya taking the first shot.
The State Governor, Dr Aliyu Akwe Doma who performed the flagging-off ceremony in Nassarawa Eggon said the project is in furtherance of the administration’s commitment to open up rural communities to the outside world.
While flagging-off the construction of Nassarawa Eggon – Bakyano – Arikya standard feeder road Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma said the desire to agitate for the creation of Nasarawa State 13 years ago was informed by the need to bring government closer to the people and to also ensure even development.
As such the State Governor stressed that he would continue to maximize the scarce resources at his disposal to ensure development reached all the nooks and crannies of the state through the provision of basic infrastructure.
The 20.5 kilometers road was awarded to Sharafa Nour Nig. Ltd. At the cost of N134,873,970.00k with the completion period of three months.
According to Governor Doma the project is part of the 13 point agenda of the administration of ensuring accelerated development in the rural communities through massive construction of rural roads.
The State Governor expressed hope that when completed the Nassarawa Eggon – Bakyano – Arikya standard feeder road would open windows of opportunities for the benefitting communities to maximize their agricultural potentials.
He enjoined the construction firm to adhere strictly to the rules of engagement urging the benefitting communities to cooperate with the contractors.
The Governor and his entourage also commissioned two blocks of classrooms and a water supply project in Nassarawa Eggon.
At the stakeholders interactive session various speakers apart from showering encomium on Governor Doma equally declared total support for him to re-contest the Governorship elections in 2011.
