Nasarawa State Government has expressed readiness to provide enabling environment to investors wishing to do business in the State.

Nasarawa State Government has expressed readiness to provide enabling environment to investors wishing to do business in the State. Governor Akwe Doma stated this while addressing participants of the Eighteenth Regular Course from the Nigerian Foreign Service Academy Lagos.

 The participants of the Eighteenth Regular Course were in the State to familiarize with the achievements, prospects and challenges of the socio-economic development of Nasarawa State with a view to attracting foreign investors.

Giving the profile of the State, Dr. Aliyu Akwe Doma represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Timothy Anjide said a nation without investors is bound to face challenges of under-development. Dr Aliyu Akwe Doma who said the State is blessed with abundant minerals resources and agricultural potentials, added that his administration will continue to operate a policy that will encourage investors in all sectors of the economy.

Reiterating his administration's commitment towards developing some of the tourist sites in the State, the Governor maintained that his leadership has executed a good number of projects that have direct bearing on the lives of people. Some of the areas accorded top priority include health, agriculture, road construction in urban and rural areas, youths empowerment, education and the on-going plan to complete the Farin Ruwa Independent Power project among others.

The Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma further urged the participants to be good ambassadors of the nation during their study tour of the State.

Earlier, in his address of welcome, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and orientation Dr. Samuel Jimba who said the theme of the tour is exposing future Nigerian diplomats to opportunities available to, would-be foreign investor, said their visit is timely considering how the State is desirous of development.

On his part the leader of the team Ambassador Amos Idowu said the visit was aimed at acquainting the participants with various programmes and development of the State Government as well as groom the participants as potential ambassadors.

The participant who are on three-day tour in the State are expected to visit some projects sites executed by the State Government.
