As the people of Nasarawa State join other citizens of the country to celebrate eleven years of democracy and three years of the present administration in the state, the State Governor, Alhaji Aliyu Akwe Doma has urged them to pray for the repose of the soul of the late president Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

He also called on the citizens to pray for God’s leadership and guidance of his administration in the pursuit of peace and socio-economic transformation of the state.

Governor Akwe Doma made the call in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Timothy Anjide, maintaining that the eleven years of democracy which coincided with the third year of the present administration equally calls for gratitude to almighty God for his blessings and sustenance in the pursuit of the national and state development efforts and ideals.

The state government who felicitated with the people of the state on the anniversary also reaffirmed the states unalloyed support, partnership and goodwill to the Nigeria president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the occasion.

He then prayed that God should continue to give him the wisdom, good health and guidance to lead the country at this defining moment in the nation’s history.
