The Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Mallam Usman Magawata has today been visiting Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State where he is scheduled to commission the newly completed Government House Press Centre.

The Director General of the Nigerian Television Authority, Mallam Usman Magawata has today been visiting Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State where he is scheduled to commission the newly completed Government House Press Centre.

Coming on the invitation of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, the Director-General is at the head of a strong delegation of media professionals who are in Lafia to witness the event.

In the past three days, the Centre has been a hype of activities as final touches were being made to ensure the success of the commissioning ceremony.

Speaking to newsmen on the facilities provided at the Centre, the Director of Media and Publicity to His Excellency, Ibrahim Addara, said that facilities provided at the Centre were some of the most modern in the media industry. He stated that the facilities included a fully digitized High Definition Audio Studio; High Definition Video studio; High Definition Video Cameras; Digital Satellite Television; Digital Photo Processing Laboratory; a Press Conference hall; Computer Workstations for journalists; high speed internet connectivity and a complement of office equipments.

The Centre which is one of the most modern in Nigeria will assist journalists working in the state to easily file their reports in order to enhance press coverage of the state activities.

Already journalists in the State have commended the Administration of Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma for providing them with an ideal working environment. They pledged to do everything to ensure that the coverage of the State in the media improves by making use of the facilities installed at the Centre.

Also to be commission today is the Government House Protocol Lounge which will serve the need of visitors and guests to Government House.
