Traditional Rulers Endorse Governor Doma for 2011

Ahead of 2011 elections, traditional rulers in Nasarawa State have endorsed Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma for a second term in office.
Leading a delegation of graded Emirs and Chiefs from Nasarawa State on a thank you visit to Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of Nasarawa state, the Emir of Lafia, Alhaji (Dr) Isa Mustapha Agwai said the decision to endorse the governor was in appreciation of his laudable programmes and policies.
The Emir of Lafia who is also the Chairman of Nasarawa state Council of Chiefs said the traditional rulers had resolved to drum support for the governor to continue in office comes 2011 ’’so as to ensure continuity of programmes and policies currently being implemented’’
He assured the governor of traditional rulers support and solidarity in the onerous task of moving the state forward and importantly, improving the lot of the state and its people.
He commended governor Doma for his resoluteness in transforming the state adding ‘’your avowed commitment to improving the lots of our state and its people deserved nothing short of commendation’’
The Royal father said the last two years of governor Doma’s administration witnessed remarkable improvement in the area of infrastructural, rural and urban development in Nasarawa state.
‘’ We now see a true commitment as against the rhetoric of the past, to genuinely liberate our people from the Claw-hold of want, disease and squalor to a haven of prosperity’’ the emir enthused.
He lauded government’s commitment to improve agricultural production in the state through the BADAKOSHI programme and assured of the traditional rulers resolve to support it.
Responding governor Doma assured of his administration’s determination to repositioned Nasarawa State in line with the dreams and aspirations of its founding fathers.
He commended traditional rulers for supporting government policies and programmes and enjoined them to cooperate with government so as to contribute to the growth and development of Nasarawa state.
The governor however, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to give traditional rulers all the necessary support just as he stressed the need for government at all levels to accord priority attention to traditional rulers.
