His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, on behalf of the Government and people of Nasarawa State rejoices with the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, GCFR on the Occasion of the 49th Independence day on 1st October, 2009.

In the same vein, the Executive Governor felicitates with the people of Nasarawa State on the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations and the 13th anniversary of the creation Nasarawa State.

However, in accordance with the low keyed posture of this year’s celebrations, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Akwe Doma, OON (Madauchin Doma) has directed that the celebrations in the State should be limited to the following activities:

Prayers in Mosques and Churches
Hospital visitation by Her Excellency, Wife of the Executive Governor
Sensitisation campaign on HIV/AIDS
Children’s Party

His Excellency, the Executive Governor wishes to use this medium to specially congratulate the entire citizens of Nigeria, particularly the people of Nasarawa State on this joyous moment in our nation’s history.
