President Yar'Adua reading his speechPresident Umaru Musa Yar'Adua has said that the Federal Government would reform education to meet up with the prevailing global challenges.

He made the declaration on Saturday at Government College Keffi in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State where he attended the 60th Anniversary Celebration/ Fund Raising organised by the Keffi Old Boys Association (KOBA) for the development of facilities at the school.

Akwe Doma reading his speechPresident Yar'Adua who is an ex-student of the institution commended the efforts of KOBA even as he called on other alumnus across the country to emulate the efforts put in to compliment government efforts in the development of the sector. The president noted that government was prepared to partner with the private sector to improve education as part of its efforts to develop human capital. He commended the Nasarawa State Governor, Aliyu Akwe Doma, for his work towards the upliftment of education in the state and extending the hands of fellowship to KOBA.

In his address at the occasion, Governor Akwe Doma of Nasarawa State said that education remains the best investment for human development, economic growth and social stability, calling on all to ensure that children and the youths receive the best education for self-development and progress. He said that the occasion had opened a new chapter of institutional self-sustenance through public-private partnership and also between government and alumni associations.

 According to Governor Doma “education remains the best investment for human development, economic growth and social stability. All hands must therefore be on deck in ensuring that our children and youths receive qualitative education for self-development and progress."

He used the occasion to commend the founding fathers of Government College Keffi who established the College as a nursery to raise future leaders and to serve as a leading light in academic, sporting and moral development.
