A member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hashiru Jadda representing Awe South constituency has reiterated his commitment towards uplifting the educational standard of the constituency.

He stated this last week, while disbursing scholarship awards to final year university students from the constituency. The law maker who spoke through Mallam Nasiru Zakari, said, assisting students with scholarship would go a long way in uplifting the educational standard of students as well as relieve parents the burden associated with sponsorship.

Mallam Zakari said the gesture was in fulfillment of the law maker’s campaign promises. “The scheme which is to aid the educational development of the students is part of Hon. Jadda’s efforts at fulfilling the promises he made while campaigning”.

He said the law maker was conscious of the need to enhance the educational level of the constituency that was why he instituted the scholarship scheme.

He however called on the benefiting students to use the opportunity provided by the gesture “to develop themselves academically so as to be fully prepared for the challenges of our modern world”.

While assuring that the scheme would soon be extended to other students, Mallam Zakari charged beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the money, saying, “it should be used for what it was meant”.

Mallam Zakari who called on the people of Awe South constituency to support the law maker, said the infrastructural development embarked upon by the law maker in the constituency were efforts that deserved commendations.

Nigerian Newsday gathered that the sum of three million, four hundred thousand naira (N3,400,000.00) has been earmarked as scholarship to students from the constituency.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries who got ten thousand naira each (N10,000), one Suleiman Galadima thanked the law maker and urged other members of the state House of Assembly to emulate Hon. Jadda’s gesture.
