(between February 2001- January 2005) after which he moved to Fairview Consulting Limited as the CEO, before joining PAN in January 2007. In a related development, Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) Limited has said it has developed a blueprint which would enable most Nigerian workers to drive new cars without spending so much money.
PAN said that under the new arrangement, workers can now easily do away with second hand (Tokumbo) car partnering with their banks to take delivery of a brand of its vehicles without necessarily carry “bags of money”.
Acting Manager Director of the company, Dr. Haroun Ibrahim made this known at a dinner for journalists in Kaduna.
According to him, Peugeot cars were no doubt, “car for Nigerians” having been in the country for 51 years since 1957 adding that the new arrangement was aimed at paying Nigerians back for their support for PAN.
“PAN is a Nigerian company; we are proud that we are the only manufacturing company today that is assembling cars in Nigeria and our vehicles, I can say with all modesty are the only vehicles you will see after 30 years and they are still in existence.
Continuing, he said “the former MD gave me a letter from Lagos last week from one of our customers; that he bought Peugeot car in October 1977 and he sent us the beautiful picture of the car, still on the road.
“Today things are different. We are partnering with banks; we have started with Bank PHB, and I urge all of us to please sign it, the vehicles are there and they are intended to ensure that we bridge the gap.
He then urged Nigerians to take advantage of the scheme, explaining that “Bank PHB is all over the place at the moment and we have already talked to other banks to enable more Nigerians benefit from the exercise”.
