Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of Nasarawa State has restated the commitment of his Administration to maintain the existing peace and security in the State. The Governor made this assertion at a ceremony marking the formal donation of 50 security vehicles to various agencies in the State.

Governor Doma at the ceremony acknowledged the fact that maintenance of security was the responsibility of all stating that the donation by the State Government was aimed at assisting in the arduous task of crime prevention and control.

While appreciating the efforts of all security agencies in the State thus far, Governor Akwe Doma urged them to redouble their efforts in their constitutional role of enforcing law and order in the face of the worrisome activities of men of the underworld.

Speaking at the occasion, the Inspector General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro, who was the special Guest of Honour at the occasion, said that the donation was a clear attestation of the understanding of the Nasarawa State Government of the essence of security in the sustenance of democracy.

The Inspector General said that with the vehicles donated and the communication gadgets installed, those with criminal intentions in the state had better packed their bags and baggage as the State will become a no-go area for them. He promised that the days when crime would be committed in Nasarawa State without detection was over as the police and other security agencies were on full alert to prevent and manage any crime in the State.

The 50 vehicles which were donated were immediately deployed for police activities all over the State.

The ceremony was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers and politicians in the State.
