The FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar has reshuffled the Secretaries of the six mandate Secretariats of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

The Minister who announced the changes at last week’s FCT Executive Committee meeting in Abuja, also announced the appointment of Alhaji Hussaini Halilu Pai as the new secretary for education.

Dr. Umar also announced the new portfolios as follows: Mustapha Bala Batsari – Agriculture & Rural Development; Engr. Christoper Chigboh- Area Council Services and Mrs. Felicita Ebannehita Olajide – Social Development. Others are Dr. Abubakar Ali-Gombe-Health & Human Services and Mr. Olusegun Awolowo - Transportation.

The Minister directed that the taking over and handing over be done with immediate effect; stressing that "the FCT residents expects a lot from us and we have no reason to let them down especially with appreciable experiences we got so far".

He noted that people are really trooping back to Abuja due to the confidence his administration has built up since he took over the mantle of leadership of the Territory.

The Minister assured all FCT residents especially those living at the Area Councils and the satellite towns that due attention will be given to the provision of basic infrastructure in those areas to discourage rural-urban drift.

The newly appointed Secretary of Education, Alhaji Hussaini Halilu Pai was born in Pai, Kwali Area Council of the FCT on 17th April, 1957.

Until his appointment, he was the Chairman of the FCT Universal Basic Education.
