The first prize of the food fair and cooking competition organised by the wife of the Governor of Benue State has been won by the Nasarawa State contingent to the competition.

Announcing this in Lafia, the State capital,  the wife of the Governor of Nasarawa State, Raliyatu Akwe Doma, stated that prize of a Kia Picanto car was an encourage to her and the women of Nasarawa State. She pledged to continue to do all within her ability to encourage women empowerment in the State.

Speaking during the fair, the organiser of the show, Yemisi Dooshima Suswam said the objective of the competition was to stimulate agriculture and promote the utilisation of local foodstuffs.  She continued by saying that the competition was her small contribution at projecting the cooking prowess of the Nigerian woman and revitalise obscure and long forgotten dishes in the country.

The competition was graced by the Senate President, Senator David Mark and the Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam.
