Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma has received an award in recognition of his rural transformational work in Nasarawa State.
Presenting the award to the Governor on behalf of CITAR, a non-governmental agency, the former Governor of the defunct Borno State, Alhaji Mohammed Goni, said that Gov. Doma has given the people of Nasarawa State a new lease of life by his activities. He described Governor Doma as a forthright, articulate and time-tested Governor.
According to former Governor Goni, CITAR considered Governor Doma for the special recognition because he embraced the right attitude to governance which has led to rapid transformation in the State in the past one year.
Responding at the ceremony, Governor Akwe Doma said that the recognition was a challenge for him to do more in the service of the people of Nasarawa state. He reiterated his commitment to implement the 13-point agenda which contains a blue print for the development of the state.
The NGO whose members include former President Shehu Shagari, Justice Mohammed Nasir and other prominent Northerners said they came to a conclusion about Governor Doma’s achievements after an independent assessment of his work in Nasarawa State.
