Vee pee advises NDA graduates

The Vice President, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan has urged graduands of the 56 cadet regular course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to ensure professional excellence and discipline in order to excel in their chosen career.
The vice president made the injunction during the cadet passing out ceremony of the academy at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Jaji Kaduna state.
Vice President Jonathan also charged the graduards to utilize the skills and experience gathered in the course of their training to defend the nation.
While assuring the Academy of the Federal Government commitment to providing the enabling environment for optimal professional development, the Vice President reiterated the government stand to stamp out corruption in the society.
Vice President Jonathan lamented that the biggest impediment to development was corruption and disrespect for the rule of law.
The Vice President commended the commandant, staff and cadets of the Academy for keeping the institution as an enduring source of pride to the nation, urging them to keep the flag flying.
A total of 198 cadets passed out among whom five were indigenes of Nasarawa state.
Among them is the son to Alhaji Ahmadu Almakura, the Sangare of Kwandare, M.A. Almakura, and Ebuga Enwongulu, son to the minority leader of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly.
Highlights of the occasion was a grand parade, Para shooting, and display of military skills.
Speaking separately, the Sangare Kwandare, Alhaji Ahmadu Almakura and Mrs Mary Enwongulu the minority leader Nasarawa state House of Assembly, thanked God for the honour their sons brought to them.
They called on parents to ensure they give their children the necessary support in their chosen career.
A dinner party and reception was organized in honour of Ebuga Enwongulu at the Gombe Jewel Hotel Kaduna, where the speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Ahmed Mohammed and his colleagues gave the celebrant fatherly blessings.
